Would it even have to be Puma steering wheels? couldnt it just be standard fiesta ones? and he would have one less job to do padding out the puma indented bits and the steering wheels should be cheaper as well

he is operating a bit like mobile operators: flat rate only. His fee is the same, padding or not. Padding has almost no effect on price formation. 500 hrk (£57 as of today, you can round it to 60 pounds for easier memorising) will he charge you per wheel. After all, diferences among wheels are very small and material usage is minor; you pay for his time, skill and precision

You misunderstand me my friend. When I say padding I meant the parts of the steering wheel that are lower than the other parts and that he put some material on first before he put the leather on top.I did not mean padding the price.

I'll ask Ian G (the UK's premier Puma breaker) how many steering wheels he's got knocking about!

I wonder what the availabilty of steering wheels is like in Croatia? it could save time and postage and purchase cost if perhaps they could be sourced there particularly if any fiesta steering wheel will suffice.

Have you been on the gin already, Gary? I think he understood you perfectly, and gave an entirely appropriate response!

Unfortunately, that won't go. It is not like in UK, fords are not here dime a dozen......

I can do loads no problem at all. Got 11 in stock in cars right now and more coming in all the time, would be 30+ by the 1st July.

I can also distribute them in the UK.

I can talk to the guy who did my steering wheel; I don't think he will be against it. You just need to sort out the postage and packaging to see if there is a bussiness case for you at all? I really don't have the slightest idea about the cost of shipping such a big package from UK to Croatia and back....?

Hell, in summertime it might make the most sense for one of you guys to come here for summer hollydays, on a way to the coast drop it off at his place, continue to your vacation destination, enjoy the sun and sea for a two weeks and on your way home collect the finished wheels? :?:

I'll look in to the postage. Good thing is they're not particularly heavy although it would end up being a large package.

Business case depends on interest and tidy wheels being as rare as they are, I'd say there would definitely be that.

I just spoke with the guy. He is all for it. Since he lives next to the boarder, there is an option (at least until the 1st of July) to send shipment(s) to adress in Slovenia (they are already in EU). It is only 5-6 kms for him, and the postage would be much cheaper for you guys. So, Ian (if I may cal l you so?), look for the postage cost from UK to Slovenia.
Also, when I catch time (in a week or so), I'll visit him and take potos of all the options (leather, colour, threads) to make it easier for you guys to make up your mind(s) and to see what is doable. He can use alcantara as well; I opted against it 'cos it wears rather quickly and then loses it's looks, but, hey, we are all different....

Well I'm in. My wheel is actually in quite good nick, but Mr Coyote's retrimmed one looks badass!
