Silverstone has put in planning permission for new pits and other stuff, I would assume to assist it in keeping F1... the plans can be found in the link below.

The track layout will remain unchanged according to the plans, but there will be substantial revamp of facilities including, two new hotels, an exhibition centre, a technology park, residential housing and educational facilities are all proposed to be built in Silverstone's grounds.
