Chances are this is going to be a box office smash, so regardless of what people say everyone is going to end up seeing it anyway.
I saw it last night and it was........ okay. No brilliant, not a patch on say, Star Trek but better than Terminator Salvation
For me it just had one too many cliche for its own good. Romantic subplot? Check. Kiss against sunset? Check. Evil government man who wants to shut down program? Check. Product placement? Check.
I think they listened to the critisms of the first one as there are more transformers, much more. But they all look the same, meaing its hard to tell who is who during the fights, and many of them dont ever transform, just staying as robots. The robots look good, but the transformations and the action always seems a bit too close to the camera to fully appreciate.
The other critism for the first one i belive was the lack of action, which they had solved in this one by having almost nothing but action. The last 40 minutes is basically one long drawn out fight. But it goes on for so long i was pretty bored and just wanted it to end.
A note if your planning on taking kids, there are about 3 swear words in it which suprised me.
