Thinking about getting a new head Unit with USB socket so I don't have to keep burning MP3 CDs everytime I want to listen to something new.

Anyone got any suggestions? I need at least 2 pre-outs though to run my 5 channel amp though.

I'm thinking along these lines as it's the newer version of the Panasonic I have already:

Or this Sony one:

Would like an Alpine one, but they are muchos money :(

pardon my newbie ignorance, but will these units slot straight in where the Ford standard unit was?

Im thinking a new unit will be my first purchase - maybe an ipod compatible one

All that is required is a fascia adapter! Available for around £10.

Basically the standard stereo is a 1.5 DIN and usually off the shelf ones are only 1 DIN hence if you don't get an adapter you will have a big gap!

Like this one Mikey

You can get silver versions to match the rest of the dash if you want.

sony head units do look better, but panasonic have better quality on-borad
amplifiers and sound quality is alot better. IMO.

Ta for that derk :eek:k:

I don't need onboard amplification though as it's running through a 5 channel pioneer amp anyway.

Probably keeping the panasonic I've got as I've found some CD-RW discs so can burn 120 tracksish to it in mp3 and can even do them at work should I want :)
