DMB gel overlays

Hi all. this is probably a stupid question but these gel overlays from DMB do they go on over the original badges or to you remove the original badges?

Mine are stuck on top, looks really good.

Mind you, it does not mean that you couldn't also remove badges first if you wanted to I guess.
