Just some info. I'm going to buy a frp gearbox and was wanting to know is there anything I can check on the gearbox to make sure it's genuine and not a standard one

There were coloured stickers on fifth gear casing(end plate) standard FRP and LSD FRP but cant remember off the top of my head what colours. Someone will know. They also had id tag plates on between the two halves on the box using one of the housing bolts. I removed mine because they are very sharp.

Cheers

Select 1st and check the number of rotations. FRP should have just over 13 rotations of the input shaft for one on the diff. The standard will only have 12.

Also check speedo drive pinion should be green(again pretty sure but not 100% been a few years since I had one out to check) in colour to match the 215 40 17 wheel circumference.
