get a video up of your car then dude! want to hear that miltek again1

I tried to do a video on my phone but the Milltek was too loud and the sound cuts out on the recording

Will get hold of a proper camera soon

I actually really like the front colour scheme there!

Reminds me of Bee's front end.

I really need to get stuff sorted otu and get mine done

Good work lads

Brakes on today, it's definitely tight in there!

We are currently trying to source a rear disc setup, once we have that and fitted it then the system will be refilled and bled. It's annoying not knowing what the 300mm setup feels like yet though!

Currently has some cheapo pads in, we will be getting some uprated pads when funds allow.

Some short videos from before we did the brakes, not the best quality mind.

Yes they are national speed limit roads.

The magic trees where put in by our mate who owned the car before us so we decided to leave them in for the min as a tribute, none of them actually smell anymore
On the brakes side of it i can see why people dont bother trying to fit those calipers behind props, they took ages of shaving small bits off the caliper with the grinder to get them just right.

Picked up the necessary parts for a rear disc conversion on Friday. The parts came off a Focus ST170 so it's the 280mm setup. The parts were in very good condition and included a set of nearly new discs and EBC greenstuff pads. Spent a few hours yesterday fitting them, here are some pics.

The old drums

Spent the rest of yesterday removing all of the brake lines from under the car and detaching them from the master cylinder as we are going to run new lines through the inside of the car. Took quite a while to get them out but now they are all out, we just need to make up new lines and buy the grommets/p clips etc.

Just a quick update, the old copper brake lines have been removed and new ones have been run inside the car. We are currently waiting on our Hel braided hoses (in kawasaki green of course) to arrive then once the system is bled we should be ready to go.... and stop

So You have used a grinder on the Mk3 mundaneo calipers to grind them down so they fit behind 15 inch props..is that right

Yep there was a bit of shaving done, not alot of metal was removed it was just that there was a few high points that combined with the paint rubbed a bit. I like props and we will be running some lightweight 15's as track wheels so they needed to fit.

@ Tyboi

All the money is going on more performance based mods at the min- although if its colour ever gets changed id really want it to be Dyno-rod orange

I had a set of Mk3 calipers i looked at putting behind 15'' wheels so i know how much you must have had to 'grind' off them, it is far far more than 'A bit of shaving'...CHRIST thats not safe mate...........

It really wasn't a great deal of shaving, and there was no shaving needed in any structurally important areas. After looking at what was shaved I will certainly have no problem driving on them. Your average calliper off a 2000 Mondeo would have lost more material through surface rust than what we had to remove.

We started making some prep for throttle bodies today, started to make the inlet manifold using the short section of the original inlet, planning to use some GSXR bodies with Megasquirt management.

I'm expecting a lot of problems along the way to getting these working, but that's what this project is all about, challenging ourselves to do things we never knew we could.

The basic idea is to use silicone hose to join our inlet manifold to the throttle bodies, leaving the injectors in their original location, and making all the other bits work such as throttle cable and all of the other stuff that goes along with it.

Today was the day we got all of the bits and pieces needed together and connected up our throttle bodies. We are still using the stock ECU and the MAF isn't connected so we weren't expecting it to run well, if at all.

We had everything connected up and plumbed in by 5PM, so we anxiously turned the engine over to see what would happen. Surprisingly it started straight up, the idle was lumpy but it revved well. Obviously it probably won't rev this well when the engine is under load without the MAF connected or a aftermarket ECU.

The plan is to buy a megasquirt ECU and get it installed, setup and tuned. We still don't have the throttle cable connected and we need to set up an air filter on the throttle bodies, but overall we are pleased with how it's going so far, expecially since this is the first time we have ever attempted anything like this.

I have added some pics of the setup below, there is also a video but the sound quality isn't great as it was just too loud for my phone camera. It sounds awesome though, a very raw and throaty sound.
