Well that didn't last long. I ended up with a reasonable 1.7 Thunder, but after a couple of weeks, I ended up deciding I wanted something that will hold it's value better into the future... ended up buy a 1998 Ford Mustang 3.8 V6. Not very fast, and certainly not as nimble at the Puma (which I...

Standard puma seats are not very good

£150 is great for full recaro. Most are £250-£300

    Newbie Looking For A Puma

Tax for the 1.7 is only 250 or 255 a year, depending on if it's pre- or post- 2001, so only £10 a month more. The economy is still pretty good (about 40mpg). Insurance isn't too bad for most people, it only cost me 10-20% more than insuring a similar age/value Fiesta 1.25L

The £1300 MOT, can any one beat that.

I'm expecting similar with mine. The clutch has now starting slipping if I stamp my foot down in 4th on the level... oh dear. I think the way to approach this is to consider how much a car without an of those problems would costs. I bought a £500 Thunder-shed in need of a full engine refresh...

Thanks for the info, but having had a look at my finances, I think I'll have to give these a miss unfortunately :(

sorry for the slow reply, didn't seem to notice the notification! :? Could you email or pm me some pics and I'll sort out an offer? ta

    FRP seat height?

I'll probably be getting a new windscreen soon anyway. If the old one ends up staying I'll sort that out. It's more the A-pillar that's the issue. If I lean back any further I can't reach the wheel!

Retrofitting recaro seats **HERE WE GO AGAIN**

I think there's some form of adaptor bracket 'to-hat' thingy used on the later car bodies. I've seen snippets on info dotted around the place, but can't recall exactly where, sorry.

    FRP seat height?

cheers, the search feature doesn't work very well on the work's PCs. I think I'll try to find a friendly FRP owner nearby who'll hopefully let me have a sit.

Standard puma seats are not very good

ouch, was that the £600 set?!
  12. G

    FRP seat height?

How high would people say the FRP seats are when compared to the standard leather seats? I find my Thunder seats have me so high (despite adjustments) that the rear-view mirror and a-pillar block my vision to the left and right! Considering replacing with Millenium or FRP seats.

FRP Seats & Rear Bench - PRICE REDUCED

Hi Paul, Out of curiosity, how low do these mount? I'm finding my Thunder leather seats too tall. Although I'm a short-arse, it's putting the a-pillar right in my field of view! Are you getting rid of your FRP, or just replacing seats etc? I'm wondering if you've still got a normal FRP I could...

    Hey fellow Puma Owners

one less thing to leak too. The heater control valve is a plastic body & spigots. Mine had gone brittle over the years, and fell apart on the test drive. Might be easier & safer to bypass the hcv and either link the two pipes together or blank them over further down. Not sure how the coolant...

    New Puma owner

nice one. I was looking at that, but ended up going for a high-mile Thunder a bit closer to me (still a 4hr train journey to collect!)
