How can I retrieve the code for the CD player. It asked for code after battery went flat.

My recently bought Puma only unlocks on the driver's side. The passenger door opens from inside and out when unlocked but won't unlock from passenger side. Is this a problem for MOT? Is it an easy problem to fix?
