There was I worrying about the sensor seals (mystery solved now), and when I get the rocker cover off I find it has a big chip out of the corner. At least I know where it was leaking! Whoever replaced it the last time clearly new about it (or, more probably, dropped it) but put it all back...

Excellent guide, thank you, which has given me the confidence to have a crack at my gasket tomorrow. Got all the bits and bobs, and thought I'd have a quick look under the bonnet. Out of sheer curiosity I decided to remove the plastic cover, and I'm glad I did, as the three longer bolts were...

If it's any consolation, I am a relative novice to car mechanics, and I have taken out and replaced my rear light assembly, so you shouldn't have any problems. It could have been a lot worse had you smacked the other side and knackered your boot lock and/or exhaust.

Mine is silver too, with a hint of deep gold around the arches. :oops:
