Tried them before they were offering silly quotes when graham sykes insured me on my 205 gti for £1000

My renewal has just come through at a wopping £2666!! thats with graham sykes I had a very bad year last year with two accidents that were my fault and one that wasn't which wrote my car off :( Cheapest i've seen is ford at 1800 odd anyone with a colorful history as mine recommend anywhere ...

When mine was wrote off they gave me first offer of £1000 the car was down as value of £1500 sounds like I might of been lucky or they're just a good company?! I could of got more out of them I reckon if I sent proof of the exentsive history and some classified ads as the car had only done 63k

Sent it for diagnostic at ford. They claimed it to be the tps and throttle body tps is £64 and throttle body £375 new inc vat!!!! Decided to buy a tps from davmac autofactors which is a ford part as they've ground off the ford logo all the serial numbers match and they look idential! for £33...

The symtoms have changed slightly whenever I drive it's very sluggish untill 3k rpm then it takes off as normal? Also she revs freely while stationary? although this could mean nothing as theres no load? Tried the dash unlock trick to get a code and it came up with 5967 which isn't listed on...

Just had a chat with ian g on the phone hes in my neck of the woods tomorrow so might be popping by after i've checked a few things

Hmm a few complete looms on ebay? do I just purchase one of those and make sure it won't get streched when fitted? Or do the later cars not have this problem and i'd be best off finding a loom from one of those?

Ok it's been down the garage apprently it's the wiring going to the throttle position sensor They phoned ford and said the revised part is £101!! Does anyone know of somewhere cheaper or another solution??

Cheers checked that seems ok This could narrow it down abit she won't start hot could this mean coilpack/leads?

Hi all as the title says was just out and about today comming upto a roundabout and found the revs didn't drop when I dipped the clutch and when I came to a stop in neutral they rose to about 4000rpm then dropped to about 1k. Also when trying to accelerate it's very flat esps around 3000rpm and...

Love the whole concept of this project. The biggest cost seems to be the clutch How much power would you say a standard one would take? Wouldn't mind doing something like this myself although i'd be looking for around 170-180bhp.

Just a small update fitted some aero wipers off ebay as the old ones looked like they haven't been changed in years! iirc I seen someone else buy these in another thread can't remember who though sorry! If anyone wants any for themselves...
