Brakes disappear when engine running and MBC

the discs thickness is fine , bearings are ok. Also this wouldn't cause all of a sudden to go from having brakes - to not having them at all and pedal to the floor.

Brakes disappear when engine running and MBC

Hi, I lost my brakes just driving around town When the engine is off the brake pedal is hard. When the engine is running I have to pump the brakes a couple of times to get any braking. Is it the MBC at fault? My Puma has later model 256mm front brakes and rear Mondeo 258mm discs; no ABS...

    Calliper Grinding

300mm Mondeo brakes won't fit under the standard Puma propeller rims. You would completely destroy the caliper grinding it to fit. However there are rims that fit with minial grinding. I used R15 Momo replicas.

    Other puma front brake options

So finally got to fit and test the 300mm discs. They drag the car down roughly a second slower. 240mm 9,8s 9,8s 9,5s 300mm 10,8s 10,8s 10,3s Used the same rims, same bit of road (a slight incline), same timing method (a passenger with a stopwatch). I know there are better methods and more runs...

How much extra bhp with frp cams add to a standard 1.7?

Not much of a puma expert, but as far as I now about ECU programming - Yeah, without the correct mapping it may even be worse

the extremes  240 vs 300 I use standard Dot4. Heard that superblue and some green stuff is very hard to clean out. So I'm thinking of switching to Motul. But the brake pads overeat much earlier than the fluid boils, so for the mean time there's probably no point in my case

    Other puma front brake options

No ofcourse not that is bonkers :) Bigger disc decrease acceleration AND fuel economy. To what extent I do not know. So i'll test this (the acceleration only ofcourse) next weekend. yes, I know about the tires and wheels :) Tire weight doesn't vary that much, especially witch such small tires...

Thank you guys for the feedback. Interesting what improvement the V6 caliper brings :) Well removing sprung weight is different from removing unsprung weight. Mondeo front brake setup weighs +10kg, if that would mean the same difference as adding 10kg sprung, I wouldn't be having second...

    Other puma front brake options

Maybe.. I'm just going on the feedback I've read from others. Reading these feedbacks, a dip in acceleration on a stock engine is often reported. I'm not against and I dont know it I would love if the ST170 setup wouldn't sap power. It's just what I've gathered in forums. Plese correct me if...

    Other puma front brake options

I'm still trying to gain weight :D Would be nice if someone would give an objective comparison how much the puma acceleration suffers from Focus st discs. After all it is a very popular mod. If nobody buys them until my holiday, maybe I'll time them, maybe :) The suggested fiesta one's are...

    Other puma front brake options

Hi, <Nevermind the caliper mk1 rear rebuild I'll just get them to an expert. now, not to clutter this webpage i'll reuse this thread> Are there other front end brake upgrade options? 1) I've been googling and suspect maybe Ford Cortina/Capri 2pot brakes fit? 2) Ford Sierra Cosworth 2wd 4pot...

    Rear disc conversion

Thank you guys for the feedback. ST150 it is. No point saving a few quid and then manufacturing something to adapt a part for a week :)

    Rear disc conversion

Great, Thanks. One option confirmed :ok: Still would be nice to hear how well the focus cable fits. I could get it for less than half of what st150 costs.

    Rear disc conversion

Hello, I'm follow the very helpful Modification guide and gathering parts to convert drums to Mk1 focus disc brakes. Awesome guide, pleasure to read and a wealth of knowledge. Just that I find the handbrake cable part a bit shady.. Has anyone done this and could share what handbrake cable was...

    front seat

I think that is exactly what I have taken a photo of. Either way, you will have to take the seat out. Simple fix, Good luck ;)

Also you can take a photo of your run-away spring, and I'll have a closer look

    front seat

Luck you, I just happen to have a puma seat laying in my room. Don't see a "big spring" so don't know what exactly are you after, hope it helps: Driver's side seat of a LHD vehicle, if that matters

    Front strut install

Hi, So my Jeep is complete :-D . Just look at the gaps in the arches, you could stuff a family of cats there  : In the end had to remove the hub on both sides to fit. Even a crow bar didn't help it, just couldn't get that last 1cm. A spring compressor might have done it, but doing like...
