How To: Rear Beam Bush Replacement

Thanks for the How to. It came in very handy. I spent about 6hrs trying to remove the driver side bush, removed the innards but the case wouldn't budge so I had to give in and buy the puller tool. Had it removed in about 10mins. Moved onto the passenger side, removed the white plastic insert the...

It was the perfect place for my new phone holder!

    Aux via CD Changer hack

Just mounted the aux input in the switch. Not quite centred, but it'll do for now!

    Aux via CD Changer hack

That's why I didn't want an aftermarket stereo, I couldn't find one which looked right.

    Suspect water pump?

I changed my thermostat and housing about a week ago and I have no idea what you could have done wrong. The only thing I think that can be fitted the wrong way round is the stat, but you've checked that. The pipes to the housing I'm pretty sure can only go on one way and nothing else needed the...

    Aux via CD Changer hack

I just fitted one of these today :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330852992466?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 It works great and only takes 2 mins to fit. I'm going to mount an input on the spare switch, though my first attempt didn't go well!

Putting off changing brake & clutch fluid?

I did. Bit more awkward to get to but went fairly smoothly.

Putting off changing brake & clutch fluid?

If like me you don't know when it was last changed I would recommend getting it done. Mine was a mess! Gunsons Easibleed made it pretty simple to change. Only ever done it with a one-way valve and tube, and using the pressure-bleeder made life much easier. Guess which is the new fluid! It may...

    how to change the thermostat

Thanks for the info, proved very helpful today. Had a leak since I bought the car, with the coolant going from maximum to minimum in a week, which was manageable. A couple of weeks ago it decided to dump a load of coolant and I had to top up 3l over a weekend, so the repair was a bit more...

    Dunlop Sport BluResponse ?

Just had them put on the front of mine, not gone very far in them but they seem very good, and much quieter than the Chinese budgets that they replaced. Always been happy with other Dunlop tyres.

    Fuel filter change!

I changed mine today, it looked pretty old and took some persuasion to get out. The fuel coming from the exit pipe was nice and clear, the stuff from the inlet pipe was a nasty rusty colour. At least that shows the filter was still working!

    First Puma service

If it hadn't been for the sump nut it would have been a breeze. All in took less than 2hrs. Took me longer than that just to change the spark plugs on my last car, it had 16! Car before that was an MGF which took 15 mins just to get to the engine, so I'm happy to be working on a straight forward...

    First Puma service

Bought a 1.4 Puma last Sunday, 66k miles, a nice looking little car off ebay. Supposedly full service history, though only a stamped book. Last one was done in Dec 2012 @ 64k. Drove it 80 miles home without issue, though I will admit to not checking everything before buying, which could have...

    New tp Puma!

I was looking for something a bit more economical than my current car, had never really considered a Puma, and just happened across one on ebay and liked the look of it, so bought it last Sunday. It's a 1.4 99 T reg in silver with 66k on the clock and only 1 rusty arch! A few issues with it, but...
