I been trying to find out what happens to the vct/vvt when a turbo conversion's done on the 1.7. how is it controlled when a seperate ecu is used ie megasquirt? or is it not used when turbo'd.

New to the site so be gentle, i've been trying to find out if it'll be possible to mate a 1.8 zetec engine to a puma gearbox? or if it's easier to just fit the entire 1.8 engine/gearbox combo. my understanding is that they are both fords ib5 boxes with the same bell housing, is it that simple...
