Saw it this morning about 11.30 parked up opposite Comet...was it you???

    Alarm Nightmare

Well, yes and no. You can buy new locks for your Puma, but can get quite costly. The other Ford option is a lock repair kit which gives you 12 "wafers" (the discs inside the barrel) which lets you replace the old ones to match your key. However, I found a place in Stoke (probably one local to...

    Alarm Nightmare

Well, best thing to do is get 2 cheap TIBBS keys cut and coded, then re program your remote key. Can be quite costly with new lock sets especially if you're changing the ignition too, as you have to change the ECU too. Easier just to investigate your locks first, then go from there really. It...

    Alarm Nightmare

Had this problem opening mine with the key too. The problem was the central locking clip on the lock barrel. The retainer screw holding the barrel to the door had come off, causing the barrel to spin, which in turn caused the C.L. clip to come off. The car never thought it was being unlocked...

    restoring headlight lenses

My FTO had the same problem...I used various grades of wet and dry up to 2000, then rubbing compound and some metallic t-cut. Worked a treat, but takes time.

If I go for a conversion, which model Puma do I need to get the parts off?

    ANYONE IN THE STOKE AREA?

Shouldn't really share this info as I need a few bit for myself, but I am hoping the info/favour will be reciprocated in the future... A "melina blue" 1.7 puma has just been delivered to Armstong vehicle Salvage in Chesterton, Stoke on Trent. Engine looks very tidy, but didn't have enough time...

    New Brakes help...

right, ok then. I shall have a look at it. I'm very dubious about the brakes ever being changed! The discs in particular, as they have a really thick lip on them, so they definitely need doing. I'm using a Mintex setup all round, but will be changing the discs in the spring to either some...

    New Brakes help...

So, is the disc held on by the carrier? or are there bolts near the centre of the hub (on the disc I have 4 circles that look like bolts with blanking plugs over them???) Does anyone have a cross section diagram or something to show all the components?

    New Brakes help...

I'm a bit ashamed about asking this, as I'd consider myself fairly competant with mechanics. HOW DO I CHANGE MY FRONT BRAKES (PADS & DISCS)??? I can do rears, and I'm fairly certain that after the 2 bolts on the caliper, there should just be 2 retaining screws on the disc. Thing...

    Front suspension??

No. I think its the same as a fiesta of similar year, but unsure (I just had to replace my front struts & wishbones, and garage said maybe sourcre parts from a Fiesta if I couldn't find any Puma parts) Hope this helps...but if not, rin Ford, they're usually quite helpful

    Boot open switch (interior)

well, this how-to gives you the best of both worlds!

    Boot open switch (interior)

Well I found it fairly easy to do, and I'm not a mechanic/electrician. It's still working fine, so theory and practice is sound.

Has anyone tried this yet? Comments? Feedback?

    Boot open switch (interior)

I had a request from CHESTNUTREE (on PumaPeople) to do a how to on this so thought I'd write one up. This is a "how to" on successfully making an interior boot release which DOESN'T affect your current exterior boot release or the central locking. You will need - approx 3-4 metres of...

Locks fixed, and boot sorted too!!!

As you know, I had the RAC out to stop my alarm going off on monday, and they thought it was a relay. I thought it was my locks, so fitted my passenger lock properly as the retaining screw had come out. The plastic horseshoe had come off the barrel (i presume this was telling the ECU my car...

I've already taken the passenger one out, and I completely agree, but now I've done it, I feel confident to do another
