I picked up a Puma 1.7 this week with 32k miles, full ford service history and 1 years MOT for £1400 Cambelt needs done so I'm doing that ASAP. Hope that helps.

they are charging me 165 labour + vat so the rest must be parts. gonna have to sell a guitar to help pay for it but should be worth it for the piece of mind.

My local ford garage quoted me 480 inc vat for timing belt kit, aux belt, rocker gasket thingy and water pump. All ford parts, does that sound about right? My wife is a bit miffed about the extra money but this should do me 5 years, do you think? All advice welcome!

Should I do the water pump at the same time as the timing belt?

Well if its relatively rust free I will be amazed lol I think if a puma was kept sealed in a vacuum since purchase it would still rust ;) Price does seem good but what dealer expects to get what they are asking? If I decide I want it I will certainly haggle :)
