    GOOD: Ballylisk Car Sales N.I.

Sounds like a bargain Chinster!! I'll be giving them a call tomorrow - the rear bushes are gone on mine : ( Let's hope there is something to do in Ballylisk - I'll have some time to kill !

    Super Unleaded - Why?

I tried last week to do a similar experiment to evaluate my 1.4 - which would be interesting compared to Chinsters 1.7. Unfortunately, I can't resist re-fuelling whenever I see 'cheap' petrol ( as i can do 400 miles a week ) which complicates things: The cost/mile equation becomes difficult and...

    Super Unleaded - Why?

Hmmm, would this be your Granny Chinster? I can see the family resemblance! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xZzPicD1I" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... re=related Tag

    Puma needs transplant

Hi Dal I'm really sorry to hear your woes! Don't despair just yet! There are frequently engines and/or various write-offs advertised which might fit the bill. I'm sure if any 'Project-iles' ( ie, us ! ) see something we'll let you know. Those of us in Ireland can keep our peepers open for one...

    Two Mexicans...

    Two Mexicans...

There are two Mexicans who have been lost in the > desert for weeks, and > they're at death's door. As they stumble on, > hoping for salvation in the > form of an oasis or something similar, they > suddenly spy, through the heat > haze, a tree, off in the distance. > As they get closer, they...

    A walk On the Wild-side?

Final update regarding the brakes. the Mintex Xtreme pads seem to have bedded in quite nicely and there is a noticeable difference - a really reassuring, progressive bite. The old pads were by no means spent so I am not comparing them to knackered end-of-life pads. the Philips Premium bulbs are...

    Hello

Hi Dan welcome to the site! Dal - thats a clever wee mouse! Displaying my iP address made me worry that 'Work' were watching!

    Much better :o)

I changed to Exalto 2's a few weeks ago and having done just about 550 miles on them they seem to have 'woken up'! Great tyres! It may be a trick of the mind, but I think they are less noisey than the old Goodyears i had before.

    New (Cheap) car ?

Until the clutch 'went' in my '97 Fiesta, it had been a terrific trouble-free three years of motoring! There are plenty of Pumas around if you need parts too! :) Seriously though, a cheap fiesta could be a donor ( interior trim, radio etc )for your Puma when you're done with it!

    A walk On the Wild-side?

How goes it Chinster? Tell me about it! :) I spent this evening changing the oil and filter the hard way ( on my back, nose against the sump! ), and checking exactly which pads are the correct ones for 'my' 1.4 Looks like Red is right - they are 258mm MDB 2314X ! Might be worth other 1.4...

    A walk On the Wild-side?

Hi Red Thats very helpful advice - many thanks! It is annoying, to have sourced what I thought would be the correct parts ( as the 1.4 is supposed to be a simple one-option matter! ), only to find I have the brake size of the 1.6 and there are now two options!! If I can't exchange the pads...

    A walk On the Wild-side?

Having just looked at the Mintex site, it would appear that Ford in their wisdom have installed a 1.6 braking system - those pads certainly seem to be the same shape at least! Of course, nothing is as easy as that - there are two versions of the 1.6 brake pads on offer, so the wheel will have to...

    A walk On the Wild-side?

What a disasterous day! :( the ramps have damaged the front spoiler, so I gave up draining the oil and moved onto the brakes. The Mintex pads will not fit the callipers, so they have to go back! If anyone knows exactly what pads are the correct ones I would appreciate the info!? I was told the...

    A walk On the Wild-side?

Hi there Pumadaddy ( or is that P Diddy, to follow the trend!? ) Thanks to all for the 'hellos'. I'm spending the weekend changing oil, filter, plugs and front brake pads ( to Mintex Extreme ), and if time allows I'll change the headlight bulbs too. Lets hope for dry weather! Cheers all

    Hi peeps

At this point I would like to remind us all that the Puma is not a 'hair dressers car' and is in fact a very manly car ( in a non-gender-exclusive way ). That said, he has a lush pussy which any man would crave for!

    Puma ownership

I have owned Folly for 1 year and loved every minute o fit! I've even managed to (almost) stop smoking whilst driving, since I may as well be riding pillion on a bike when it rains. Bring on Year Two!

    A walk On the Wild-side?

I fear my very first post has gone a tad 'off topic'! I presume the rev limiter on 1.7s will tame the 6000bhp. Is 'red' diesal is fine for a 1.4, or do I need to 'Shell' out for the real stuff? : )

    A walk On the Wild-side?

I can handle poor spelling - I do it all the time unfortunately. I do however hate reading paragraph after paragraph without punctuation! That's my little rant over. : ) My Pummy has recently stopped functioning and the garage-johnie recommended the addition of a petroleum based fluid at...

    A walk On the Wild-side?

thanks to all for the welcome ( and sage advice )! I'm in Belfast, with a silver 1.4, so if there are any 'silver is too common' type remarks, can we get them out of the way now? : ) Thanks Chinster for the bulbs - i might be able to see the roads this winter! I'll let you know how it goes.
