Hello, Just thought i'd update the situation. Mechanics been back round, and did some compression tests. Turns out it's Cylinder 3 that's the problem, and not Cylinder 1 which we all thought to begin with. on Sunday, he's going to take the top off, and check the camshafts, see if anythings...

Was definetly the latter. Our Family mechanic looked at it and said the rocker cover gasket is fine. Just frustrated. Spesh as i need a car for work.

Yeah, strange though one minute it was running (barely), now it isn't. Person who had the car previous to me, had a habit of overdoing the oil. As was discovered when i took the spark plug out. It had flooded it.

Of course, i check once a week. Went out there, and now it's not starting full stop. Starter motor is engaging and turns the engine but now it's not firing at all.

Really hope it isn't any of them. Money's really tight as it is. :-(

Ok done all that, still no luck. :-( I'm gonna book it in to get a mechanic to see if there's anything in the engine itself that's causing it.

I ran some tests an 2, 3 and 4 are firing fine. 1's not and causing the vibration.

I'm considering it to be a possibility, don't know if it's an easy fix

Lol, it's lost a fair bit of power when it's below 2000 revs, soon as I go above that it's fine. And when I do pull away it's slow, very slow

Hullo Right, couple nights ago the engine started vibrating quite badly, gone out and replaced spark plugs, coil pack and the leads. Still no better, now I'm at a loss at what else it could be. :|

Ah ok, I'll pass the info on for the mechanic to look at.

Nothing at all. Runs like nothing is wrong (Aside from the high oil consumption).

Evening/Morning. Right, last couple of weeks i've noticed my engine is consuming alot of oil. First off, is this normal on a 1.7? Also, i have to top it up every two weeks. Making me wonder whether something has gone in the engine, and needs replacing. :|
