Mk1 Focus RS powered Puma, now going RWD, JWRC

Hopefully that helps, if you need anything else, let me know. I didn't know you even got Kas' in Australia to be honest!

    New wheel arch panels.....

The thing to bear in mind is that the new sills are only a 1/3 of the problem.. There's 3 sheets of metal that join there so if the outer sill in gone, the chances are you haven't got much left of the centre panel and the lip from the floor probably also needs addressing. Won't be all of it, but...

That's good to know! Thanks for that, Jay.

I was thinking a disused airfield. I'm not keen on a track day as there will be other cars around. I need lots of tarmac and lots of grass run off! Something like the Top Gear test track would be perfect.

You're dead right, Dave said the same thing. Some of it we will only know once it's built and then adjust to suit. I'm definitely going to need a wide open space on some private land somewhere just to see what it does. Yup, I have - that's the sort of trim level I'm aiming for on the inside...

Nice toolbox 8-) I like the wheel rack too

Thanks. I knew it was more than just chucking the engine in the back, but there’s even more to it than I thought! I actually need to ask Dave’s advice on brakes as I think for obvious reasons the car will need more than the standard split at the rear. Not sure if I can get that through the ABS...

Mk1 Focus RS powered Puma, now going RWD, JWRC

Hi Jay, The raised mount point for the front of the lower arm/wishbone is to remove the ‘anti-dive’ from the front of the car to get some weight transfer towards the front under braking and cornering (now that there’s no engine weight). The rear bush ideally needs to be a bit lower but...

Adaptions top the front subframe. This raises the front mounting point of the lower arm. And new, but fixed top mounts. These have been moved to accommodate geo and wider track.

Sounds good! .. the weather for me always puts a downer on it if it's raining.

Didn't look that busy? and you seemed to have a clear run, which is preferable as less chance for things to go wrong! Was it busy at Trax in general?

Got another update.. New suspension turrets with adjustable top mounts have now been done. They need some sleeve nuts to fix them though I think, there is just a spacer (comes with the adjustable mounts) resting there in these photos. About 3 years ago now, I drew this on holiday (sad...

My Puma 1.7, more than a year on (A works in progress)

Full set.. but the rears are fork mount so would either have to sent to Gaz to change to eye mount or no good to you?

Barry, my Gaz coilers are for sale if that's any help?

I'm really pleased with how it's turning out. Call me Naive but I didn't think that 2-3mm made that much difference in bush position, for example, in terms of geometry, but that's sometimes all the difference! Dave has thought it all through and explained how and why it's been done the way it...

Fair enough! I've had some of there springs and a few other bits with no probs. I don't think you'll need the springs too much harder once they're longer.

Barry, you can all sorts of 2 1/4' springs from rallydesign.co.uk They sell different rates and lengths. You need longer springs on the front by the looks of it, probably another inch at least.

What sort of track is Curborough? Looks like a sprint track?

It's one way of getting rid of rusty arches  The rest of it on the car isn't that bad, mostly surface now - just a few holes in the floor to sort and a little more at the rear of the sills.
