Hmm, agree looks like part of the steering rack. Just checked the fluid level and the reservoir is still full. No untoward noises and everything feels good. Could it be a vacuum of some kind??

Power steering seems normal thankfully :) It's metal, about 55cm long. It's also hollow as you can see in the second picture. Seems to sit parallel too and inbetween the ARB and steering rack.

Had a metalic noise coming from the front of my car when going over pot holes or speed bumps. I bought ARB bushes and was about to change them, but as it happens I found this loose part rattling about, I removed it by pulling it right through, but what is it? Should I be worried?

Ah ok, won't bother trying to tighten them up even more then, even though I couldn't get an allen key on the passenger side? The cup and weight turn freely by hand.. that can't be right? Post a picture of yours so I can see what you mean :) I'm up for swapping if it makes sense :)

I can definitely pull the ARB, it moves a lot! I have just ordered up a pair of Ford bushes. If that doesn't fix it I'll replace the drop links. Genuine Ford ones are about £65 !!

That's good to hear :) How long did the roll bar bushes take? Any advice on how to tackle the job? Is it best to disconnect both sides from the drop link or one side at a time?

Exactly.. just make sure you get the ST150 carriers with the caliper, you'll need these I think! I did anyway.
