    FRP wanted please!!!

Yeh, seen these. Suprised at the price for the brakes, thought they would be cheaper. I'm sure the right car for me will turn up!

    FRP wanted please!!!

Yeh, we need more up here in The 'Pool!!

    FRP wanted please!!!

Of course, you're right, it's just getting the balance of condition and cost. It would be wrong of me to get a show car as I won't keep up the detailing and polishing, I prefer driving!

    FRP wanted please!!!

Budget depends on the car to be honest. Obviously as cheap as possible! And i dont mind if its not a minter. Any figure I have can always be stretched for the right one. Any jobs like belt and brakes will be taken into consideration, I would do them myself with the right tools.

    FRP hubs/knuckles

Nice one, wasn't sure if they had a heavy duty bearing or something.

    FRP hubs/knuckles

Hi, does anyone know if the standard Puma hubs fit into the FRP hub carriers/knuckles or are they unique to the FRP? Thanks in advance

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

Too much on my shopping list!!! Unsure what to get first!!! Hubs and possibly shafts a priority!

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

I know. Problem is that MSA regs only let you add spoilers freely to race cars and only homologated ones to rally cars. All those hours of development by Ford in the wind tunnel had better be worth it! If anyone has a 2nd hand one for sale I will gladly buy it!! I'd possibly even go down the FRP...

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

Thanks. I've had contact with Speedline in the past and they too were helpful. Hoping to do selected ANWCC single venue events, budget permitting! Build funds around £4k although that soon goes out of the window!!! Rear F2 spoiler is expensive, £400+ seems excessive but I've got to use that one...

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

Thanks for the insights guys. I've built a few cars, couple of 205's, one for a friend in the Challenge, an Impreza STi and now this. I started road rallying back in '95, navigating and eventually co-drove for a variety of friends in Mk2 Escorts, Mazda 323's (gpN + gpA) and various 205gti's...

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

They will be the bigger S1600 / 1400 BRC challenge size arches. Just had confirmation back from my local-ish scrutineer that my plans are ok. So logbooking should be sorted. Obviously pending the safety and quality of the build! The only thing they are strict on is the fact I need to use a...

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

Magnum recommend sunken pop rivets for easy replacement, skimmed over with filler. Just hope the scrutineers arnt arsey about then being classed as extensions and not purely cosmetic

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

Yes, that's all true. But the 1400 used a standard beam with axle spacers, as I intend to. It will be used only on smooth single venue stuff, can't afford forest events! Front is do-able with various parts. I just loved them back in the day. There was one on the NW Stages this year, still a...

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

I know, it's just the new msa rules are aimed at limited modifications and are more production orientated. I need it to be in cat.1 so it's easier to get logbooked.

It's been a couple of years since I built a car and competed!

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

You're missing the point. I don't need the panels to compete, I have always wanted to rally one. I don't fancy a standard arched car, I'd go for a Clio 172 instead. As for capacity, i will never have the money to win my class. 1.6's tend to cost more. The main reasons are cost and I can use...

Queries for S1600 panelled rally build and MSA logbook

I am basically going to build a S1600 lookalike bodied 1.7 single venue car, nothing fancy mechanically, just a budget bit of fun that i will wheel out occasionally on local rallies. Sorry if it sounded like i was going for a full-on works car! If only..!
