Anyone know anything about VW Polos?

Gal at work is having problems with hers, so just thought I'd ask to see if anyone's got any ideas.

It's spluttering and cutting out, particularly on pulling away from junctions, even when trying to rev the nuts off it.

She's sat opposite me, so can ask any questions as and when people think of anything.

Well most cars run the same way, so it's the same sort of things as for the puma. Idle control / MAF / Fuel? / Throttle position sensor, just they might be called different things by VW.

When was it last serviced?

Coil pack - I think they aren't too hardy on VWs, although I could be wrong.

Neil is quite correct, if it's a later model the coil packs are rubbish.

What year is her car and what engine is it fitted with?
