I've been hearing a noise from the front right. lifted the car up and pulled the wheel upwards and I could hear and see it being the top strut mount. Is it just the rubber part that needs replacing? Also, looking at guides on other cars, they always remove the whole suspension to replace it, but...
For the moment I think I'll make an extension rearwards on the sparco subframe so I can hardmount the seats without runners. Should be the easiest way to get a nice fit.

Those indeed looks to be sitting really nice and low. I might look into modifying the standard frame for the drivers seat atleast.
Been tempted to get a bucket seat for the drivers seat anyway and in that case I think it would be possible to get enough adjustability...
Starting looking for measurements and concluded that side mounted seats would probably work really nicely to sit low again - also feeling stupid that I just didn't google side mount vs bottom mount etc. :)
Will probably keep my driver side with the modified standard frame for now and look into...
I have ordered sparco subframes and mounted the passenger side with the subframes + runners + sparco R100.
Like that it's noticeably higher than original and definitely higher than I want them, also the far backward position is not as far back as I'd like it.

Received my vibra mount today - think I'm going to be a bit cautious and order the standard part and get the vibra mounted to it so it's done to simply replace it.

I received my sparco subframe today - with the pretensioner mount as in the above pictures - but for me those doesn't fit at all - the "guide bolt" and the hole that should fit the torx needs to be the other way for me, they also don't line up as they should... is it just different for different...
hmm, considering buying a standard new one just in case then. Hadn't heard of issues fitting the new mount in the old housing before. But I can understand it would be tight, maybe it's possible to sand it down slightly if it won't go in. as long as pressure is still required to get it fitted it...
Regarding vibra being too stiff - I think I read about it and that the "competition" one can be harsh but I think the road spec I'm going with should be fine.
I've seen others do the mod you're suggesting which sounds like a nice "budget" fix. Already ordered the vibra mount so just going to...

Well I would imagine drag wise it's better to maybe keep the tray even if wheel is removed. Ideally you would maybe remove the tray as well and make your own flat floor to replace it.

Took a look and does indeed look like it's hanging low in the mount. Heard the Vibra upgrade is sensible also if you're going to fit 4-2-1 manifold which I'm guessing will be done sometime in the future so while it's expensive I think it's worth it.
Okay, so I figuerd out there weren't 2 together, that was only the one that didn't need replacing.
Found out the gearbox one that needs replacing is under the battery! Little experience of pretending to be a mechanic but I'm slowly figuring it out. :wink:

So I have concluded that the engine mount looks the same irl as on the demontweeks picture and is a mount that could cause the engine to sit lower.
Then it should be 2 more mounts and if I understand it correctly from looking under my car those 2 mounts sit together? the one further behind...
