    1.7 Fuel Tank Replacement

Any ideas on where to buy the correct one as the one ordered has arrived and it's bloody wrong. Too many sellers online listing the tanks as suitable for all Pumas when they're clearly not!

    1.7 Fuel Tank Replacement

Is there anything to distinguish between the 2? Rather unhelpfully all the sellers I've seen with tanks list them as fitting "all" Pumas. :?

    1.7 Fuel Tank Replacement

Cheers for the response mate. Mines a 1999. Just looking online at the moment they all look the same. For example the one I saw on eBay is listed as for Pumas 98-02 which doesn't sound right with what you're saying. Need to get one ordered ASAP so I can get it fitted and back to the MOT place...

    1.7 Fuel Tank Replacement

Almost 2 years of trouble free motoring with the Puma and now it's just failed it's MOT. Fuel tank has split so I'm looking for a new replacement. Have seen a few on eBay for around £60 but before buying I want to make sure it's the right one. Is there any difference between the 1.7 and...

    Squeaking noise when driving.

Mechanic thinks they're a cheap set of pads with some metallic content in the rubber which is causing the squeaking noise when they're slightly contacting the calipers.

    Squeaking noise when driving.

Turns out it was the brake pads squeaking.

    Squeaking noise when driving.

It's just when driving normally. Doesn't happen all the time. Someone has said it could be the rear brakes. I have noticed a few times recently it feels like the rear brakes come unstuck after releasing them when it's been stood overnight. Going to take it down to the garage as I think the...

    Squeaking noise when driving.

I'm getting a squeaking noise whilst driving. Sounds like something needs oiling. Only hear it at low speeds when the windows open but it sounds like it's coming from the rear drivers side wheel. Any ideas what it could be?

    Ford servicing

Like has been said, most of the time it'll be labour costs jacking the price up. The dealers also charge a bit more of a premium because they're trading under the Ford name so are guaranteed a substantial amount of custom especially from the likes of people who buy a new car then just get it...

    Hello everybody!

I'm going to get the mechanic to do a once over at the end of the month and see if there's anything that needs doing then might think about lowering it.

    Hello everybody!

I'm going to have some money put aside at the end of the month to get a few more things done! So now the cambelt is done what else usually needs doing?

    Hello everybody!

I believe it can put extra strain on the belt. If it's in good condition then it probably won't make a big difference. In my case we weren't sure how long ago the belt had been done or if it had been at all so we didn't want to tempt fate. Replacing a belt is one thing, replacing the engine cos...

    Hello everybody!

Still loving it. About 120 miles for every £20 of fuel which is similar to the 1.4 Focus I had previously. I have been careful driving the last few weeks though until the cambelt was done.

    Hello everybody!

A large part of the reason it was that price is because as a mobile mechanic he doesn't have the overheads of maintaining a building / premises. A Ford dealer in Buckingham quoted me £550 for the job. Local garages were quoting £350. I wanted to make sure that I went somewhere that knows what...
