    Tint removal

Factory tint is usually really light and blue/green, but it's 'in the glass' so you can't do anything about it. If it's a film tint you want to remove then get a heat gun (hairdryer works too, but takes longer) warm the film on the inside of the window, then start on the outside one section at...

Mk1 Focus RS powered Puma, now going RWD, JWRC

Looks like the air filter is in the wing (?) So long as it has a splash guard it's safe right? Does look great, I absolutely love the exhaust manifold - good job

    Bad earths?

Thanks guys, believe it or not I haven't ever had a heated screen until now so genuinely had no clue. Your replies have cemented that it's not an issue. As for the dome light switch on the passenger door, I guess I'll have to just go back over the earth and follow the wiring like the good old...

Hi all, please can you help wife the wifes puma maggie.I have just replaced the car battery due to the car breaking down

Just start the engine and use your multimeter to check the battery voltage. You're looking for around 14 volts. Your other option, for reference, is to push the odometer reset in and start the car with it held in, keep it held until the needles sweep to the right. Just keep pressing the reset...

    Bad earths?

Please tell me there are commonly poor earths for the below list. 1) Heated front screen - When I hit the switch the revs pick up a touch and the lights dim a little 2) Low fuel light - I've run the car to empty and had no light come on at all 3) Door open courtesy light circuit - The dome...

Hi all, please can you help wife the wifes puma maggie.I have just replaced the car battery due to the car breaking down

Certainly sounds like the alternator to me, did lights dim when other electrics were used by any chance? Do you have a multimeter handy? You need to test the battery voltage and that's the easiest way to do it. You can also check the voltage through the dashboard diagnostics, if you have the...

    Options list?

Cheers Ian, unfortunately it doesn't have the spec list for my June 2000 model, so just how late is a 'later car'? I know I can change the way the locking system works and have the repeaters flash on unlocking, so maybe I can modify the loom to run the 'one touch up' when locking - just a thought.

    Options list?

Is there any way, without calling Ford, that I can find out the options my Puma had from the factory? I know there are websites for BMW chassis number entry for the options list, is there something like that for Ford? Is total closure an option on the Puma or would I have to steal it off a...

    Morning!

Thanks guys :-) After repairing the rust I'm going to lower it sensibly (unlike every other car I've owned), upgrade the front brakes and they will define the wheel size, though I don't want any bigger than 16s on it. One of the previous owners had the rear windows blacked out and fitted HIDs...

    Morning!

I figured I should say hello here first. I bought a black virtually bog stock 1.7 with very little surface rust for just £220 last week and so far it's been a joy to drive.
