Yeah, nothing strange in there. Except the air filter which I'd an k&n drop in. I wonder is the sound coming up from the throttle body?

Hi. I've sought advice on this forum for a poor idle. Now I've discovered a popping sound from the air box. It sound like pop corn being cooked. Could this be related to the poor, shakey idle. Where wud I check for a vacuum leak? Or is the Maf gone. Please help. Thanks. Chris

Thanks for you're reply. I was told that the timing belt has been changed recently. I still do think there is a slight miss fire which is causing the shaking. Might buy a new Maf for her to see if there is any improvement. It's melting my head. Lol

Excellent. Will do Yog thanks very much. It was doing my head in. Have you any advice On my shaky engine. Fell the car shake at idle. Changed coil pack, leads and spark plugs. Also ran Redex through here. Its always worse inda morning when I start her.

Hi, in addition to my vibrating engine grrrr. I've noticed a water lying on top of the gear box. looked at the expansion tank to find it empty. Looks to me it coming out round the coil pack area ? Cant really tell. Is there any common place for our pumas to leak at this area?? Thanks for any help.

I put the cat in first gear with hand brake applied and let the clutch out slowly and seen that the engine was moving back a bit. Then the same process with reverse gear applied and the engine moved forward. So there is play in the mounts but which???

Thanks for you're reply Frank. I was assuming an misfire, though you think the problem could lie elsewhere ?? What other fault could cause this then? what do you think of the injector rail idea>.

I considered the engine mount though there is no movement that I can see. I am sure there is a slight misfire even though the revs are steady. I was thinking about replacing the injector rail. Get them for 20 quid off ebay and are easy to install. Think its just a straight swap. I took the puma...
