    inner tyre wear and camber

Cheers Zinc. I'll give the ball joint a check but when i had the new tyre fitted the guy gave it a shake and it all seemed solid. Also, I'm pretty certain that wish bone is under 3 years old. It's probably only covered 10k miles but what with all the pot holes around I'll certainly check...

    inner tyre wear and camber

Additionally, can someone explain how this tool works... Something like this was used to measure the toe... Hung over the back wheel with a laser pointer on the front wheel (if i recall) I'm guessing all it's good for is matching one side to the other as it doesn't appear to tell you what the...

    inner tyre wear and camber

Hi all, I've read a few posts on here but can't really find the answer I'm looking for.... Had some pretty bad inner tyre wear on the front passenger side... Had the tracking looked at and they only adjusted the drivers side. No idea if they did it correctly but I'm guessing inner tyre wear...

    Overheating after bleeding-Fixed!

Jesus. Change the HCV first not the head gasket. Might be a 20 quid fix that way. What do you mean it didn't blow hot and it didn't blow cold? Did it blow at all? How much coolant are you losing? Can you see any signs off a leak? The coolant level will drop when you bleed the system but...

    Car wont start

Cheers Ian! The pump pick up filter was pretty clean so you're right, it's not the problem. I did hear a buzzing noise but couldn't get fuel into a bottle so I'm guessing the pump was on it's way out. Strangely, when I removed the tank and pump and connected it directly to the battery it did...

    Overheating after bleeding-Fixed!

You dont have to have mayonaise in your oil to have a blown gasket i dont think... if the coolant was leaking out of the engine rather than into the oil you doubt you'd see anything. Are you losing coolant?

    Car wont start

For future reference... The 5 pin plug on the fuel pump unit has a blank pin in it (the middle one on the row of 3). The other two on this row are a fuel pump live and a ground which grounds the entire unit. The other two pins are for the fuel level. The pump does have a pick up filter...

    Car wont start

Additionally, on that link it says about the middle pin on the fuel cut of switch, can anyone confirm what the other two wires are? is one for the sender and one an earth? Cheers, Dan

    Car wont start

Hi guys, Trying to get my Puma back on the road after 6 months of sitting idle... I'm pretty sure that the battery is dead and needs replacing but after fully charging it on a trickle charger im fairly confident I got enough power into it to at least get one start out of the energy. I assume...

    OBD and ABS

Just to add to what everyone said about the ELM327 readers... If you think it could be a sensor problem you may be able to diagnose an ABS problem with a multimeter stuck on the end of the sensors as I recently discovered for myself. It's a bit of an arse ache to do but it worked for me when...

How to change outer CV joint or boot

You're welcome mate. Hope it helps. For me, the biggest issue was seized bolts really. The pinch bolts were a bit rusty and when I removed the ball joint, I noticed that the ball joint boots were knackered on both sides so I had to change the suspension arms too. One of the suspension arm bolts...

    ABS

Thanks for all the help guys. In the end I took a volt reading of the front whilst spinning them by hand. Got 0.2 volts. Then I did the back and one was 0 and the other was about 0.1 volts. I took the brakes apart again and then realised the sensors were sitting too far back. I think the dirt...
