Sorry for not responding, I've been so busy. All items are still available and I'm now open to offers. I need the space back. I'm not posting, or arranging couriers as I don't have time, but collection at the weekend is fine. I'm in the Hope Valley, S32.

    front brake dragging

If they're dragging, then the calliper is likely to be the problem.

    ALARM WONT STOP!

There's a fuse in the driver's footwell, on the side of the fuse board. Can't remenber exactly where, but it's one on its own, blue, I seem to remember. Pull it and the allarm stops. Happened to me in 2011, and still not got round to tracing the problem.

    traction and abs light

My starting point would be to check the ABS sensors, for which you will need a multimeter capable of measuring Ohms (resistance). From what I gleened elsewhere, you should get a reading of 1 Ohm from a good sensor at the plug. The front ones are inside the wheel arch, the rears are paired and...

    MPG again!

Back to the MPG thread, I've posted before, that I've changed from super market fuel to branded (usualy BP, because its handy for one of my clients!), and I've seen a significant improvement in MPG. I was getting just over 200 to the tank on North Derbyshire lanes (no A roads!) and Sheffield...

    60mpg

I used to drive WRXs. Once got 320 miles from a tank, before the light came on! Shame it was a 60 litre tank! Did an auto test in my last one, on grass. The trip computer didn't show anything untill it had done 1 mile, so when it came up with 3.6 mpg, I was a little supprised. Best I had was an...

    Sounds like wet HT system.

    60mpg

I'm starting to use branded fuel, rather than supermarket fuel and I'm noticing a significant improvement in fuel economy. On Tesco fuel. I was getting about 200 to 220 miles to the tank, on BP and Esso, I'm getting nearer 250. Most of my miles are in and out of Sheffield from the Peak district...

    Day to Day Brake Pads

Halfords always used to stock ferrodo, so I assumed they still do. I'd avoid their own brand following past experiance with them. I used to get them to fade going around the park in Wolverhampton going to work each day, in my old Mini (on discs)!

    magnetic gearbox drain plug

I don't think the gearbox is fitted with a drain plug, from other threads on here!

    Day to Day Brake Pads

In the past, I would always have gone for Ferrodo, but more recently the choice has ballooned! I think I'm using Pagid, at the moment, and am happy enough with them. Most of my mates have always sworn by Mintex, though! If you're only using the car for the daily commute, etc, rather than any...

    Expansion Cap/Water leak?

Sorry, but I can't agree. The spring ones have no place on my vehicles! I do agree that you must keep the joints clean, etc, but I still feel that a good old 'jubilee' type clip will be more reliable in the long run. But everyone to their own. No offence, I hope!

    Expansion Cap/Water leak?

I'd check all the hoses. The standard Ford hose clamps are rubbish, in my opinion. Over time, they stop clamping properly and allow the joints to weep (rather than leak) leaving a tell tale crust around the joint. A couple of weeping joints can easily account for that amount of coolant loss...

Value to changing all 4 tires to same type?

The best way to ensure predictable handling is to use the same tyres all round, but I understand your predicament. I would suggest making sure the tyres are all undamaged and at the correct pressure for high speed work. Bear in mind that track work is incredibly hard on tyres, and you may need...
