thanks for that the gearbox has now decided to start working normally again which makes me think its some crap in the oil so will flush it and check the oil out for swarf or other foreign bodies,thanks all for the helpful replies :-)

can anybody tell me how to flush the gear box please ???

thanks for the reply but all gears engage ok then 1st and 2nd go stiff for some strange reason alignment is ok ,would like to flush it first before i do anything else , but dont know how to go about it or what to use

what would i flush it with and how would i go about doing it ,any how to or pointers would be appreciated,thanks.

well just in the house,took the gear linkage off the car ,opened up the selector box black one under the gear stick ,put more grease on it as it was needing some,checked the universal joint was ok no slack in it ,then checked the rod coming from the gear box itself with a set of grips worked all...

nice one m8, it is rather tight in around the solenoid like everything else on this car,but it is satisfying to eventually get everything working .

well after no info that fixed the problem had to just wing it ,fixed the passenger door by pushing the interior handle in as if to lock it with some force and what would you know it cycled the locking solenoid and the door would now open with the key and the fob also the interior handle.Drivers...

update on central locking ,it has now completely packed up so that means the drivers door unlocks with key not the fob as does the boot ,the passenger door is now permanetly locked wont open with key ,fob or pulling the handle from inside so its totally knackered ,how do i replace the central...

anybody got any ideas on this is there seperate relays for o/s and n/s locking ,seperate fuses anything ??? all ideas welcome.Thanks in advance :grin: ps i havent got any owner manuals to look at as the car didnt come with any.

checked the micro switch on the back of the drivers lock with a continuity test, the switch seems to be working, how do i check the sender unit which i think is in the passenger door ? any ideas welcome.

a week has passed and no noise from brakes must have been the abs sensor happy days

tried reprogramming the key still not working,the drivers door doesnt lock or open the other doors from inside the car ,was thinking about taking the solenoid out from the door lock and giving it a good clean anybody got any tips or hints for getting this working ???

thanks for the link ,got the brake pipes done but had to unbolt the tank and drop it down a bit on a jack to get enough room to work with the spanners oh and get my shovel hands into the small gap but managed it ok only 4 bolts holding the tank in so not to difficult, so if any body else is...

anybody ? can you help? is this a known problem ,could it be the solenoid in the door lock ???

have replaced the front abs sensor on the near side as it was not giving a reading on the multi meter so hopefully this has cured it
