1999 1.7 Rev limiter

Hi all
I have a 99 1.7 that I race on the oval at Lydden Hill. It has the following mods : full Milltek 4-2-1 system (no cat, single lambda). K&N panel filter with mods to the air box. It performs well but hits the limiter at just the wrong point on the lap in second gear. I only use second and third as we don’t need to get any higher.
Can the rev limiter be upped? I’m not talking about removing it completely but just upping it.

You can have the frp map put on which raises the rpm limit by 500 rpm I believe.

Perhaps a 1.4 gear box may help ? Can pick them up for £50

Yep, as above. Depending which ECU you have you can get the FRP map which puts the limiter at 7200 from memory.
