Hello folks,

Just thought Id introduce myself.

I've gone from this:

Impreza STI, approx 330bhp, which was great on track but really started to grate with everyday driving.

335d, absolute torque beast. Fantastic daily car, BUT dont fancy it's chances on track. Which leads me to think, what unknown, light, readily available car is there that isn't an mx5 (had one before) and could hold it's own on a track...

Thats why i'm looking for a Puma!

I'll be looking to build one over winter and track it in the new year. Wish me luck!

Haha yes! A 172 is on the list as they have got quite cheap, but when you see 1.7 Pumas selling for sub £400 on eBay, it really makes it hard to consider anything else.

:cool: great intro, welcome!

I've always fancied that model STi

Thanks! They are great cars, just a bit thirsty on daily duties. Not that I was surprised, but when it was my only transport it was getting a bit much.

:D

Which is why I've not bought one yet! Probably a bit excessive for a 70 mile commute each day.

Keeping the 335d as a fast road car, aiming for a Puma for a disposable track weapon!

Wow I love that STI, cannot understand how you will give that up for a Puma even if its a cheap track weapon!

I wouldn't mind driving a car like that even if its not the best for a daily, so much HP must be real fun even though most of the time it cannot be used.

I would suggest you to join this facebook track group were you could get a lot of questions answered regarding track Pumas and if you still haven't found one yet there is some for sale from time to time that already has some of the work done and goes for cheap! https://www.facebook.com/groups/435017829979077/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Welcome!

Fantastic! Thanks. The STI went in March so its a distant memory now!
