I've seen this a couple of times now. Still good though.
 
I thought most people could read that sort of thing. People who can read well (average ability) tend to take in the first and last letters of a word and make an educated guess at the rest...or so I have heard! 55/100 is a majority, albeit a small one, so hardly defined as 'strange'.
