Hi All,

Can someone give me a rough idea of how long it should take to get a dash board out of a Puma?

Also, will I need any unusual tools? I'm gonna pop to a breakers yard on Wednesday and remove a dashboard and don't want to go completely unprepared...

I found a couple of links explaining what to do but there's no pictures, if anyone has a better guide please let me know... The pages I found were:

http://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=12858&p=168327&hilit=remove+dash#p168327" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and

http://passionford.com/forum/ford-puma/359963-puma-dash-removal.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If all goes smoothly, hopefully, I'll be able to create you a guide with some pictures when I return...

Can't give you a time, but there is a thread on PumaPeople on a 1.4 without Aircon. You may have to register to view it:

i have an account there but can't seem to load that page... is the link correct?

Think i got it now: http://www.pumapeople.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102185&st=0&p=891173&hl=+dash%20+removal&fromsearch=1&#entry891173" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ?

Yea, about a million times. Their log in system is rubbish!

Found the link and managed to access it by navigating their rubbish menu... http://www.pumapeople.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dash_Removal" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My posted link works for me. Sometimes you have to log in for a second time to enter the Wiki. Another problem they never bothered to fix!

Ok guys - I went to the breakers yard and pulled out the dash. Took me about 1.5 hours to get it out but I wasn't rushing at all. Also I lost about 20 minutes trying to get the steering column off. So I reckon pulling my dash off should only take an hour. Going to try and do it Saturday. Will take pictures and create a guide if possible.

That would be great. Be very interesting to see how you get on as I am contemplating removing mine to strip behind it, but previous dash removals (non Puma) have been a pain for me, so not keen.

That would be really appreciated on my behalf as im planning on taking my dash out soon as something keeps rattling about behind there and there is a leaf stuck in the aircon somewhere :thumbs:

What are you taking yours out for? Anything interesting?

I had that too. Happened when I changed the cabin filter. It's almost impossible to stop something dropping down it. Makes a very annoying noise doesn't it!

yeah sounds like I have a piece of glass or a bead or somthing rolling about behind there when i corner hard! driving me crazy lol!
