I love my puma to bits, i've looked after it recent major service new cambelt.

But recently my power and performance has been really poor, even standard 1.2 everyday cars can keep up and overtake me even though i'm flat out.

My car does have a very loud AFTERMARKET exhaust on it, could it be to do with a lack of back pressure, lambda sensor or something else. I cleaned to maf recently aswell.

When i do put my foot down, it takes ages to build power up on it but the exhaust is screaming

I need some advice, as this may cause me to sell the car!!!!

Was it the same before the service and cambelt change?

Where did you have the cambelt done? When Chris did mine recently he actually set the cams back to where they should have been and I got more power. I wonder if the cams have changed.

Other thoughts:

A blocked exhaust from a broken cat sending bits of it down the exhaust system would cause a lack of power due to too much back pressure.

Ignition ok? Coil, leads and sparks?

Can you feel the little surge at 4k with the VCT engaging?

When was your fuel filter last changed?

I dont get much of a surge at 4k revs.
Fuel filter was changed on last service 3 months ago.
Cambelt was done in february.

But i still think its the exhaust. Where could i drop it in for an inspection, and how much would it cost, for an exhaust examination.... or could they check the whole car for me!!!

when I first read the title of this thread I thought it was a condition that was going to require those little blue pills ;)

hope you can get sorted quickly!
