This has probably been answered a gazillion times already, but anyway.

I am mullering over popping some frp cam shafts in the top end upon rebuild. I am assuming I have the TAPE ECU based on the date of manufacture, but I need to double check.

Now my question is: If I get the cam shafts, is there anything different to timing them compared to standard 1.7 cam shafts? Do valve clearances need to be adjusted. I know the ECU will need to be re-mapped and a 4-2-1 manifold.

Any ideas on costs of FRP cam shafts and where to purchase?

What are the differences between FRP and fast road cams?

Thanks in advance, sorry if this has been answered already.

hey mate, i have a set of FRP cams i no longer need PM me if you are interested.

Hi Corley.

Thanks for the offer, I am just trying to get all my info together first. Could you PM your price mate.

Thanks

Hi,

Brand new cams you're looking at £200 per cam, no more than £250 for used ones.

Yes there is a special locking tool to use and a few people on here have the tool to rent.

There is a difference in timing them to standard, other people know far more than I in this area but I think there about a 1 degree difference.

Obviously someone has already said they have some, alternates are calling Alan at Pumabuild.

Thanks mate. I think I need to get as much info together as possible before starting this.

Is the ECU remap-able someone like myself or would it need to go off to someone who specializes in that sort of thing?

Yeah it would need to be remapped by specialists, Pumaspeed are the most common for that map regardless on what ECU it is.

Thanks for your help Flying Scotsman. Much appreciated.
