Im having mine done @ a main ford dealer in norfolk. They wanted £360 but another 95 for the water pump as well

Just been quoted £360 from a local Ford specialist which includes a genuine Ford belt and all the parts listed above. He also says he always changes the rocker cover gasket when he does the belt on a Puma too so that's been included in the quote. Does that sound OK price-wise? :?:

Just out of interest are there any tell-tale syptoms of imminent cambelt failure on Pumas. Mine was done in 2006 and has covered 40k since then so I guess the time is right to do it anyway?

Im now getting annoyed with my ford dealer, they have just turned around and said the car wont be ready today and that they have had problems with it, but they will know when they start it up? hows that when it blows up?? Im sure they have done enough puma cambelts in the past.

Think im not going to bother with main dealers any more!

While he's at it he might as well put a new aux belt on too as it has to be removed to do the cambelt. Not sure if that's already included so worth a thought. ;)

The quote includes the following; Ford cambelt, tensionor, inlet cam and crank bolts, alternator drive belt/idler and rocker cover gasket. Does that cover everything? He seems to know his stuff so I'm guessing it does?

Forgot to add, some people say to change the waterpump as it's an easier job when doing the cambelt but changing it is up to you. If it's working ok then no need but if it needs changing later it's a little more of a pain to do - but can be done on it's own so it's a choice rather than a necessity from what I can see.

It was done 40k ago in 2006 and seems to be OK so probably won't bother.

lol wtf, firstly wtf at looking at a cambelt and being able to tell if its ok, secondly wtf at taking it off and putting the same old one back on FPMSL

jesus wept, take it to someone who knows what they are doing for god sake

Hello. I'm new here. I have problem to change cambelt. After two days working finally i'm there and i need help, some book or picture, with markers how to put new one. I'm sorry , my english about cars parts is awful. So if anyone have some link or picture to help me put new cambelt will be good.

Can you get a Haynes manual for a Fiesta? It'll have the procudure for changing a 1400 cambelt. Its a pain if you don't have access to the cam locking tools though!
