Bauer Media has suspended publication of motoring enthusiast title Max Power with its last regular issue – the February edition - hitting newsstands in January.

According to Bauer, the last issue of the magazine will be a collectable ‘super-sized’ edition looking back on its history.

The company intends to keep the Max Power brand alive in the future with a series of “one shots” and special issues.

According the most recent figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations, Max Power sold an average of 20,589 copies each month last year. At its peak in 2003 the magazine averaged a monthly sale of 239,668.

Six staff are understood to be affected by the changes.

Shame at the jobloss's, but thank god- Just needs Redline and Fast Car to go and then the only ones left are decent reads.

Where will I get my monthly fix of luminous green 1.1L Corsas now?

I'll stick with Evo.

Great if all you want to read about is ancient 80's/90's Sierras and Escorts. I only ever buy them if there is something Puma related in it.

So not very often.

no real loss imo

il second that....every page has a cossie engine....! granted the escos is lovely but you can get sick of it....and the sierras...omg...the sierras...foul, FOUL looking cars every last one of them! only buy the ford mags if someone has done something spectacular....like put mondeo 4x4 running gear in a xr2i!!! or if its puma relate

i only ever bought it once with the twin vr6 engined golf mk2 as that was my mates boss's car which is now in france.but i was a follower of revs, fast car.nowadays its fast ford performance ford and sometimes practical performance car if its available.it was more like porn than power! the magazine i mean

Surely someone at MaxPower could see this coming? It seemed to have a combination of tastelessly modified 80's & 90's hot hatches, with a few 'Fast & Furious' copies thrown in to try and attract a slightly wider audience. I'd say the modified car scene moved on from this..........about 10 years ago. Won't be missed by me!!
