£5 off at Tesco with a £30 spend.

Grab a copy of this Sunday's (29 June) News of the World for 95p and there'll be a voucher for £5 off your shopping at Tesco when you spend £30 or more. So if you're a regular Tesco shopper then you're quids in.

Any conditions?
The voucher can only be used in stores, not online at Tesco.com.
The £30 must be spent in one transaction and you can only use one of these £5 vouchers per £30 spend.
The voucher can't be used to buy tobacco products, fuel, lottery tickets, e-top ups, prescription medicines, baby milk or gift cards. Nor can you use it in the cafe.

FREE £5 M&S GIFT VOUCHER VIA DIRECT LINE

What’s this all about?

There's a way to get a free £5 Marks & Spencer gift voucher. To do it all you need to is call up or go online and get a quote for Direct Line home insurance before 30 November.

The advert has been all over the papers, but the key term is that you don't need to get the insurance to get the voucher.

How to do it?

You can either do it online or call up
On the phone: Call 0845 246 4019 and say you've got a code, "mspress" at the start of the call
Online: Get a quote online but ensure you enter the code "mspress" and the voucher will be posted to you within 30 days.

http://www.directline.com/home/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you get a quote online you won't see any info about the offer (this has been in newspapers) but we've been assured by Direct Line's press office that entering this code in the 'promotional code' box will qualify you for it.

What else do you need to know?

Quotes can be obtained up to 90 days in advance and you don't need to purchase the policy to get the voucher, just hit the 'Save Quote' button to exit the quote.

MOT's

For cars with faults the MOT test fee is usually dwarfed by repair costs. While a cheap "MOTs just £20" promotion sounds good, it's ruined for those shelling out £1,500 to get problems fixed. Worse still, a few dodgy garages fail components that'd pass elsewhere to generate business.

The key is using hidden local council MOT centres, which don't do repairs, so there's no vested interest to fail you. This is a step by step cheap MOT guide including a full council test center listing.

A very thorough report. Just a thought ;)

My tip of the day is only half fill your petrol tank, as you will get better fuel economy because the weight of the car will be reduced. Have you ever carried 3 bottles of coke from Tescos, rather heavy!

i used to think it would...but factor in the extra trips to the petrol station...(unless u drive right past one regularly)

but stil....its a 10kg saving lets say on a 1100kg car....altho im using the same argument to buy a carbon fibre bonnet....!!!

I dare say it is probably true - I hate trips to the petrol station, so I end up filling it completley up, and then driving it until the fuel light comes on again (something it does quite frequently!)

Here's one I heard quite recently, and not actually that bad of an idea.

Since the fuel prices have been dropping again, just imagine fuel costs as much as it did when it was at its highest. After filling up, calculate how much it would've cost you back then, and put the difference into a savings account =)

Hollywood Bowl 1p games over Christmas!

http://www.hollywoodbowl.co.uk/news.php?id=73" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The chance to book online and play for just a penny is available to people bowling between 9-9.30am, and is being re-run after a successful launch in October half-term when many families took the chance to have some fun and exercise on a budget.

Offering fantastic value throughout the week, it is hoped that the 1p scheme will generate a great atmosphere in the bowls earlier in the day.

The scheme will run from Saturday December 20th until Sunday January 4th, and customers can take advantage by going onto Hollywood Bowl and booking themselves a lane between 9am-9.30am on any day.

Bargain central!

Evo is a good read too. The only mag I now pick up, it's a bit supercar based but we all have to dream and rates the Puma 5 stars out of 5.

A few good ones I got via email:
(Thanks Sam)
