I am car mad, have had over 50 cars in the last 10 years! Had many Fords in the past, my first car being a Mk4 Escort, but my main Ford fetish are Mk1 Escorts of which I have had 6, the last being a 400+BHP Cosworth powered Mexico sleeper. I have just sold my R33 Skyline and was completely unsure what to get next. While scowering eBay and Pistonheads I came across the FRP, a car in which I had been to look at at my local dealer when I was 19. The dealer turned round and told me to come back when I could afford one and walked off!!
Well, I went a looked at a couple, both of which were a bit too rusty for my liking and I had been watching this particular car on eBay, so I put a cheeky bid in and won it! It was as clean as the ad said and when we went and collected it we were well happy....

Being an owner of a small garage and tuning company the car was immediately put on the ramp to check it over. A few small tweeks here and there, like the exhaust bolts etc and a quick service - fuel filter, pollen filter, oil & filter and the car is good, apart from having to have new handbrake cables at extortionate money from Ford, am I glad I have a Trade account!!

The car drives and handles like nothing else I have owned but is rather underpowered coming from a Skyline! I have mapped the car and am now thinking about Nitrous!!

The car has had a good clean, a quick detail and today was polished up with some Dodo Juice Supernatural and the underside was undersealed to keep it in good condition. Just got to go and pick up the original wheels now as i'm not 100% sure on the aftermarket ones on the car.

Altogether a happy owner and the noise and driving experience puts a smile on my face everytime I get in it!

Brilliant looking FRP you've got there.

I think driving the Puma is about the fun you have with it and never the outright pace!!

If you just can't live with a 1.7 (be it a nice one!) you could always consider another sleeper by slotting in a Coworth YB?

Enjoy your FRP!

Yep Lewis had this FRP, took it on a trailer to as many shows as he could.

I agree about the wheels though, I'm personally not a fan, you can grab some new Racing Puma wheels from Pumabuild if you want them!

Looks nice - make sure you drive it now (as far as I know it was trailered everywhere - didn't actually make it to a show under it's own power).

Using it everyday mate, apart from when I have customers cars! Will still show it and use it for promoting our business though!
