Hello all,

I'm after some advice on getting an obd2 reader for the Frp but as there are so many to choose from its getting confusing!!

I've been looking at a universal odb2 d900 eobd can scanner on eBay.

Can anybody advise me if this scanner works on the puma or advise me on an alternative model.

Thanks for any help.

I got this one, it works and showed no faults, whether it should be showing any is another matter :-D

However another member recently bought one and it gave a code that said not compatible or some such

Thanks quest. Will have a look at that :)

Has anybody else got a favourite obd2 scanner? Just trying to find out which work best on a puma.

Hi, i have early puma, 98. which reader do i need? Terry.
I had a 98 Puma and also wanted a reader for mine. I couldn't find one that was compatible for that age of vehicle.
I could be wrong, bit I don't think it's possible to get a reader for a Puma that old.......

its possible...all pumas are obd2 compliant. mines 1998 and it works fine. you just need the right adapter.

This is the one I bought - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-BLUET...iagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1c2192ecc9

Same as someone else on here (a long time ago) was using successfully. It's worked in every car I've tried, just not my Puma. There is the question of whether the Port on the car may be damaged (I've had some water ingress), but it does appear to be trying to communicate with the ECU, it just fails to find the protocol for the car.

I bought it to use with the Torque app (amazing bit of software by the way) but no luck. :-(
