I've noticed that mine doesn't ever hiss when I open it unlike my old puma and many others.

I suspect the seal is worn out but can you just buy seals?

What part would I need, does it go inside the cap?

Thanks.

You can replace the washer inside the cap but you may need to buy a non-locking petrol cap to take it out of. I'm unsure whether they are sold seperately! It might be worth giving the filling neck a clean up to ensure a good seal!

This should solve the lack of hiss and help keep fuel in the tank when going around corners!

You wont lose fuel even if you dont have a cap on. The cap is there for anti theft reasons really.

so how come i get fuel spilling out of the cap 'area' on hard cornering.....

any ideas?

There is like a one way flap in the neck that will only open inwards, there should be no way fuel can come back out. Maybe a tiny amount but only a few drops that are probably around the cap area.

i get petrol streaming down my wing & bumper after a 'good' roundabout....er...!

breather maybe?
