Now this might be nothing more than just a change of trading status, or a way of avoiding tax etc but Pumaspeed have gone into liquidation as of last month.

I believe they're still trading but members might want to just think twice before ordering anything online just in case they do go completely under and you never get your order.

An expaination on their webpage:

Expansion and Restructure.
The new great brands R-Sport and MAXD-OUT Software have added significant volume to sales and have taken the company into many new areas. This resultant increase in sales has given the company a new focus on the global market place.

The decision has been made to build the new company - a global platform by bringing in new staff and enchancing the current directorship with experience to deal with all new software and hardware developments.

A new company has been set up to deal with the expansion programme and the older company closed so not to create any confusion.

For the trade and retail customers alike there will be no change to the normal processes, orders will be processed via website and via phone and in many cases as stock levels will be higher delivery times will be much faster.

I don't understand why they'd go into voluntary liquidation though rather than just closing the company. Probably to get rid of debt.

It was instigated by Pumaspeed and was / is voluntary
Yeah, I know -

...The other situation is a creditors' voluntary liquidation, when the directors approach an insolvency professional for assistance in liquidation since they will not be able to fulfill creditors' obligations.

Their choice otherwise, would be what?

It's a fascinating read, especially the bit about a company being back in business the next day - http://www.lucasjohnson.co.uk/cvl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not much fun for the creditors though, I would have thought.
