Fantastic bit of kit, makes the gear shift so much more positive, and works well as a quickshift.

Simple to fit too

dont make the shift too short or you will be beating the synchros on fast gear changes and a few trackdays down the road you will have a fucked gearbox with crunching synchros.

I will let ginger tom put the first one through its paces and then if everything is good I will set about buying and modding many more.

It finally got put on Toms car on Friday..... It's good. Feels weird, but good!

The people that felt it at RS Combe said that they liked it. It feels weird to Tony because he's used to having more throw on the gear linkage.

My verdict is that it's fucking sweet, really helps the car round the twisty's.

They look exactly like a normal puma gear stick.

I'll leave it to the technical people to explain how they fit, but when Tom put his on, it was done in minutes.

Does it just come as the stick or the stick with the rods attatched?

I have a gear selection problem from time to time and have trouble getting it into third a ford mechamic reckons its a spring in the gearbox. A new box with lsd would be nice in time along with this short shifter.

However in the meantime would you think my problem selecting third would be made better or worse with a short shifter?

I'm thinking it could either make the problem a litle better or maybe the short shifter might have reduced the wiggle room I need to find third sometimes

Assuming the short shifter that Tom has, is the same as the others Kizza can make/mod, the only difference to standard is the throw/movement between gears. The physical make up of the whole thing is the same as standard and fits the same as standard.

I know this is an old topic but are these spacers still available?

Or else, is there anything else we can buy as a shortshift? I bought one for an Escort XR3i from Matt Lewis and it won't fit.. It is for the earlier version of the shifter..
