Will a starter motor off a ford fiesta freestyle fit my year 2000 puma 1.7 16v
???

Depends what engine, if it's a 1.3 it won't fit

i think its from a 1.2 so i guess that wont fit

it probably will.
the 1.25 and 1.4 were zetec se engines, like the Puma.

Yes the 1.3 was the Endura engine so a 1.25 or 1.4 will probably fit

Just check the length of the spindle, too long you mash the ring gear, too short misses or just catches the edge, sure you know that anyway but worth a check, other than that as above, if its from a zetec, should fit.
