at times it struggles to go up..is it due to the window not being opened regulary  - any hints or tips......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What Peter said ^^

As funny as it sounds, do it half way up. Stop. Then start again : it'll go faster as it starts again.

Something like this:

Can't hurt to try, but the silicone grease will 'stick' better making it last longer.

:eek:k:

Could do with doing that to my passenger side window tbh.

Need a bit of 'Water Displacement 40th attempt to get it to work' on my drivers door hinge.

Or is it me as I bend my way out?
(Getting on a bit now..)

Nah. Your joints just make random cracking sounds. As do mine... <_<
