I've found that when I get thrown out of my seat a bit when really going for it through corners, and plan at some stage to put strut braces and stiffer suspension in, but for the moment, I'd consider putting in a decent bucket seat temporarily if I'm going for a spirited drive or a track day.

Is it possible to simply swap in and swap out a different seat?

For instance, two I've been looking at:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320884853674#ht_500wt_1413" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/carextras/3179749" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If they already have ford rails on them, will they fit to the sub-frames that the car has 'out-of-the-box'? Or do I still need to modify the car?

Original subframe welded??

The subframes are different, you'd probaby need to get some subframes from sparco and ensure the mounting bolts all line up.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of, really not into destroying the subframes I have, the buckets are only going to be on a few days a year :-(

This diagram (at the bottom of the ad) looks helpful
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMP-BUCKET-SEAT-MOUNT-SUBFRAMES-FORD-PUMA-ALL-94-02-/350555269325?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item519eb8e8cd#ht_5946wt_1396" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Is there no one else who does this?

I saw a Focus ST 170 leather seat for sale here too, already on rails, surely that wouldn't require modification?

What I want is to be able to swap in and out the seat in a few minutes, so I assume I'm going to need two subframes, one attached to the original leather seat, and another attached to the new bucket.
There was a guy selling buckets on Ford rails already, should have bought it off him just for the frames..

I've just fitted some OMP bucket seats, with harnesses and had to "butcher" the existing sub-frames to make them fit. The height was a major issues, using the existing seat runners, so they had to go!

Old seats were proper knackered anyway and its just passed the MOT with "fixed position" seating.

IMHO it has transformed the handling, lowering the centre of gravity of both the driver and the passenger.

If I knew how to post pictures, I would show you the finished article.

Just working on a website for the car and the mods we have done to date, so hope to put a link up soon.

that isnt going to look better when its had a wash lol, it needs a recover at least
