Well as pointed out in several other threads, due to insurance reasons I had to ditch the fat cat and get something more feesable since my commute to work is only a couple of miles each day now rather than the 70 miles it was previously.

At the time I only had 2 weeks left on my insurance so I booked myself in for my CBT and went out and bought this brand new.
Clocked up 4500 miles on it since then, had a few close do's and managed to get my knee down once or twice!

Now I'm after trading up to an R6, Ninja or Gixxer but figured I'd show you some pics anyway!

Erm yeah we don't talk about that Yip...

I've sat Mod1 and the theory, awaiting to do Mod2 at the moment then I can ride anything (Doing DAS as I'm over 21).

"Technically" they should be displayed in much the same way I shouldn't have a tinted visor, but if you're not a gimp with the law they tend to be pretty 'lax, and I should know that after the Friday night I had.

Knee down, roundabout, traffic cop, busted.

Ack...no 'L' plates!!! Tut Tut!!

We used to put them on after we'd passed our test just to get a pull.....lol. Even had them on my 600 when a 125 was the biggest bike you could ride before passing the test. Had some great fun with coppers trying to catch me then....pmsl.

Why isn't the CBR in your list of considered upgrades? :p

You wanna take it easy jumping on something like that as 15BHP of the R125 vs the 115BHP of those other bikes will easily catch you out to begin with!

I mid stepped to an 80BHP but I reckon you could go straight to the 115BHP area without too much bother.

The R125 does look quite nice.

Do you have to split the course now MOD1 MOD2? As when I did my full test this was an option but you could also just go straight on to the full license which is what I did.

I don't mind some of the Honda's, especially the Respol-livery ones but I just took more of a liking to the other 3.

I had put an offer on a 57 ZX6R - Beautiful metalic orange and black one with all the bells and whistles on then at weekend some gimp went and took it for a test ride and totally binned it, insurance write off.

I was also due to stand a £1.5k loss on mine from it's selling price (even though it's only 6 months old) so with that in mind I've decided to stick onto this a little longer, may as well make full use of my years free insurance and then use the NCB to bring down next years price on a 600.

Have just attacked eBay and bought some white LED sidelights, few carbon fibre pieces, blue fairing bolts and booked it in for a GP race can at MTC Exhausts over in Liverpool on recommendation from a friend.. should keep me entertained for the next couple of weeks!

N.B. You probably can sit both modules together if you book a full day of a course but I opted for seperate ones instead. :)

Completely agree, always the way when you buy brand new (the reason I never have)... you may as well keep it for at least the first year else you're pretty much jut giving owner #2 a massive discount on RRP.

@Red (Matt is it?)
Only reason I went brand new is because it was £4k for a brand new one and get a years free insurance or approx £3-3.5k for a 1yr old one and then go forking out £500 on insurance, worked out roughly the same in the long run so opted for new.

Glad I did go new, it gets so many comments it's unreal, I've had strangers asking for their photos on it, even had people asking if they can sit their child on it when it's been parked up on sunny days, haha!

@Reechard
Trade in valuations at a dealship were coming in at the £2600 mark, should have been able to squeeze them for a little more though, they could shift something like this for fun.
Private sale more like £3-3.2k.

On a sidenote, I've just been abusing the Pro-Bolt website... talk about the little bits adding up, GULP! :?

Bikes are great, they do attract attention and generally other bikers will give you a nod..

..Your deal does sound quite sensible!

Are you an all weather rider then?

And yes it's Matt :)

ooops, should have had me there to buy the bike Marcus. Could have gotten you the Rossi one (with white wheels :p) and £250 worth of free gear like I did when I went with my brother for his. £4k was my offer and they took the bait....lol.

I don't think my brother has actually thanked me for lending him the cash interest free or for getting him the bloody deal in the first place....family!!

Funny you should say that actually!
The first bike I looked at in the dealership was a Rossi Rep with all the bells and whistles already on it that they'd just taken in PX.
I was ready to buy it when the guy who was PX'ing it had to back out because of his insurance on a 600+ was alot more than he anticipated - so had to give back word.

As a result of the dicking around I got all the extras on mine thrown in for free (about £200's worth) and also got £100 knocked off my beautiful lid - Bell Carbon Daytona with irridum visor! :p

PS: I still want white wheels on this one!

Sure am because I use it to commute to work, not looking forward to winter but Yip is fixing me up with some Hot Grips at the Sheffield meet... I hope! :eek:k:

I have some Oxford heated grips I haven't yet fitted either.

I've ridden over 2 winters only stopped by ice on the driveway meaning I couldn't physically get the bike out of the garage for fear of it sliding over.

First lot of bolts arrived earlier, not convinced though, I think I prefer black ones!

Still tempted to buy orange ones and do the wheels orange instead of white!

MTC GP Pro can in white!

Can't believe the noise difference between the two, it actually sounds like a bike now rather than a knackered hair dryer!
