I had to take the Seat Leon back to enterprise today because the service light came on for the second time since i've had it.. So they replaced it with this...

I have no idea what engine it has. All I know is its an SRi but it has no guts whatsoever, and I stick to previous comments that i'd rather push my ford

Well its another white one to add to the collection...

They're not a bad looking car though. I'd have one of these over a Focus.

No i agree Neil, its not bad too look at. Its just got no poke
But i'd rather have a focus.. :D

When I asked the guy at enterprise he said maybe a 1.6 or possibly a 1.4, he offered to go and find out but I really wasn't that bothered. I've had a quick peek under the bonnet but no clues under there. And I can't tell the difference between astra engines like I can puma engines

A whole 98bhp and 0-60 in 12.9... oh dear!

Haha! I told you didn't I... no guts!

Honestly I did probably 15-60 coming off a roundabout earlier and it took forever! I think I gave up trying at about 57mph

It's a vauxhall... why is there a vauxhall on your drive... ;p
There's a Vauxhall on my drive because it's a good sized 5 seater which has over 200bhp, does 0-60 in 7 secs and 154 mph!

I like them a lot. Was considering one seriously to replace the RX but now want the GTC variant as it looks much sportier and isn't such a comedown from the RX I feel (who am I kidding ).

Plumping for the 165bhp diesel which I can't believe I'm even considering but the job I have is putting too many miles on RX and petrol cost is ridiculous using it as a daily. £220 so far since the 24th April and I've only done a tad under 800 miles. The Astra will probably do the same on one tank full

Working this weekend so hopefully the one I've seen will still be available next weekend - oh, and it's yellow!!!!

Oops, thread hijack

Sorry, but that doesn't answer the question!

Not much power, seats 5, slow to 60 ... Plenty of good cars that do that :p

I have to agree with some of the comments, ie, its a Vauxhall!!

We had an Astra 1.6 as a curtesy car a few years back, I have never driven anything soo boring, no go, abysmal handling etc etc, nasty thing :-(

Is it a Vauxhall or a Renault in disguise? Isn't there an arrangement between GM and Renault? The only thing good about vauxhall is the XE engine and that's old and the head had a little help from Cosworth.

Think I had an XE engine, 2.0 Sport Astra 1998? 2.0 XE Ecotec?? HOPELESS engine whatever it was!! Economical but no revs, all midrange and no trousers :(

I think the Ecotec engine was a different engine to the C20XE. The C20XE engine is a favourite with rear wheel drive Fords such as Escorts and Anglias and is the cheapest way, still, to 200BHP. The way to tell is the C20XE engine has an "L" shaped cover over the spark plugs, usually in red if it's a standard engine. As I said the heads a Cosworth design and it makes lots of HP.

I know the one you mean, the older Astra & Calibra 16v engine, mine was the newer version, this one, really flat for a 2.0 in a little Astra..
