As already sadly mentioned.... Engine died! so now I have to tow her to the garage!! All sounded easy until I took the plastic cover off and found that there is no kook as it has been sheared off!!!!

Has anyone else had this problem and have a solution, paying for a truck to recover is an expense I really want to avoid!

The tow hook is usually kept with the jack iirc and you have to screw it in, but I guess if you think its sheared off it most likely is. Maybe drilliing it and a reverse tap is the answer.

Same thing has happened to mine, sheered flush in the hole. Gonna require drilling, tapping and ridiculous amounts of swearing to get out.
 
drill a pilot hole,get hold of an old torx bit,hit it into the pilot hole and then use it to remove the remains of the tow hook :eek:k:
