While doing some work under the car last spring, I noticed some rust around the engine bay, so as we were planning on having a few things tidied up, off it went to the bodyshop. It had quite a stay there.

wow thats a lot of rust!!!

Glad its sorted though!! Not beginning to pop through the fuel filler area yet??

I remember on my first XR2i i had some light bubbling around filler and i thought id cut it out dead easy and once ground off paint work most of the quarter panel ceased to exist!!!!
 
Despite fords claims of a redesigned floorpan you can see from this pic that the bulkhead/footwell panels are almost identical!
And that the inner wing is clearly just an evolution from the mk3 one!! The chassis leg is only different where necessary to support redesigned suspension subframe and enginemounts!
